With expert support and personalized guidance, Resume Services empower you to present the best version of yourself—on paper and beyond.

Resume Services is a valuable benefit available to our members, whether you're updating your resume to reflect your current role or preparing to apply for a leadership program, this service helps transform your resume into a more competitive and compelling document. Our team works with you to highlight your strengths, align your experience with desired opportunities, and support you in answering key application questions as effectively as possible.

The service is available on a quarterly basis.  Each quarter we accept 6 members that have not utilized the service the prior quarter. Our ERT Chairperson will send out an email notification of when services are available and how to apply!

The cost of the service is $225 per person.  If your resume really needs more work or applying for an Executive position the member may have additional cost which will be paid for by the member.

At the end of your service, each member is required to complete a survey of the service to ensure the NBCFAE’s expectations are being met.  If the survey is not completed, you will not be able to receive future assistance with this service.

Currently Resume Services is on hold due to the change of the US Presidential Administration and executive orders that have caused the NBCFAE to make changes to realign to the needs of our members.

Here are some tips to help get you started:

  1. Tailor Your Resume to the Job
    • Customize your resume for each position by using keywords from the job description.
    • Highlight experience and skills that are most relevant to the specific role.
  2. Use a Clean, Professional Format
    • Keep it easy to read with clear headings, consistent font, and logical structure.
    • Stick to one or two pages unless you’re in a field where more is expected (like academia or government).
  3. Start with a Strong Summary Statement
    • Use a brief 2–3 sentence summary at the top to showcase who you are and what you bring to the table.
  4. Focus on Achievements, Not Just Duties
    • Use bullet points that show results, impact, or improvements you contributed to
    • Quantify achievements when possible (e.g., “Increased sales by 20% in six months”).
  5. Use Action Verbs
    • Begin each bullet with a strong verb like "Led," "Developed," "Implemented," "Improved," or "Managed."
  6. Highlight Relevant Skills
    • Include both hard and soft skills that are relevant to the position (e.g., “Project Management,” “Data Analysis,” “Team Leadership”).
  7. Include Keywords from the Job Posting
    • Many employers use applicant tracking systems (ATS) to screen resumes. Using the right keywords increases your chances of getting noticed.
  8. Keep It Concise and Relevant
    • Avoid unnecessary details—focus on what directly supports your qualifications for the role.
  9. Proofread Carefully
    • Typos and grammar mistakes can make a poor impression. Double-check everything—or have someone else review it.
  10. Keep It Honest
    • Don’t exaggerate or misrepresent your experience. Focus on authentically highlighting your strengths.
